This page explains how Vanguard Digital makes money, in enough detail that you can judge what our coverage is worth. Short version: some links here are paid, the payment comes from an advertising network rather than from you, and it buys placement — not the words on the page.
The arrangement
Vanguard Digital takes part in an affiliate programme run by an advertising network. If you follow one of our marked links and register an account with the advertiser, the network pays FAJBUD s.r.o. a fee for that registration. At present there is exactly one such arrangement, covering War Thunder, a game published by Gaijin Entertainment.
The fee is paid by the network out of the advertiser's marketing budget. You pay nothing extra for using our link, you receive nothing different from anyone who arrives another way, and the account you create is an ordinary account subject to the publisher's own terms. If you would rather nobody was paid, go to the publisher's site directly — we say so on the page carrying the link, not only here.
What the money influences, and what it does not
It decides which product has a page. This is the honest part that affiliate sites usually leave out. War Thunder has a page of its own because we are paid for it. We do not maintain coverage of every game in the category, and nothing here should be read as a survey of the market or as a conclusion that this title is better than one we do not mention.
It does not decide what the page says. The advertiser and the network have no right of review over our text and have not seen it before publication. Nobody can pay for a favourable description, a rating, or the removal of an unflattering statement — a point we can make cheaply, because we publish no ratings at all.
It does not buy claims. Product-specific statements here are limited to what the publisher states about its own product. Where a question would need testing we have not done — performance, value for money, suitability for a child — we say we will not answer it and point to the publisher or the relevant Australian authority instead.
What does determine our coverage
Six of the seven question pages on this site exist independently of the commercial arrangement, and would be worth reading if the paid link were deleted tomorrow. Their subjects come from questions that recur in public gaming communities, chosen when the answer is general, stable and checkable against a source. That is the whole editorial test, and the about page describes the method in full.
How paid links are marked
- Every paid link carries a plain-language note immediately beside it, in ordinary body text, saying that it is paid and what we receive.
- The homepage carries a disclosure near the top of the page, above the first paid link, not tucked into the footer.
- Technically, every paid link uses
rel="sponsored nofollow noopener"and opens in a new tab. - The destination address is written directly into the link, visible in your browser's status bar before you click. We do not use a redirect on this domain, do not cloak the destination, and do not rewrite it with JavaScript.
- We set no cookie and record no click. The network reports totals to us; it tells us nothing about individual readers, and we send it nothing about you.
Things we do not do
- No paid reviews, sponsored posts or paid mentions of any kind. Nobody can buy a paragraph here.
- No display advertising, no pop-ups, no interstitials, no exit-intent offers, and no automatic redirects.
- No testimonials, star ratings or user quotes — we have none that are real, so we publish none.
- No urgency devices: no countdowns, no stock counters, no limited-time framing.
- No collection of your details to pass to anyone. There is no form on this site at all.
Why the disclosure is there
Partly because it is the right way to run a site that is paid this way, and partly because it is the law. Under the Australian Consumer Law, misleading or deceptive conduct in trade is prohibited, and a commercial relationship presented as independent opinion is exactly what that prohibition is aimed at. The ACCC publishes guidance on advertising and selling, including how commercial relationships must be disclosed in online content. We would rather over-disclose than test where the line sits.
Trademarks
War Thunder and all other product names, logos and brands mentioned on this site are the property of their respective owners. Vanguard Digital is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them. We are not an official site, an authorised reseller or a support channel for any product, and we cannot act on any account.
Questions about any of this
Write to info@vanguarddigital.online. If you think a disclosure on any page is unclear or insufficiently prominent, that is worth telling us, and we will change it.
